EXCLUSIVE: For the first time in almost three decades, there will be a change in the executive ranks of CBS’ daytime drama The Bold and the Beautiful. Casey Kasprzyk, a 22-year B&B veteran, has been promoted from Supervising Producer and will join Bradley Bell as an executive producer on the long-running soap.
Kasprzyk is only the fourth executive producer in the 38-year history of B&B, which was created by William J. Bell and Lee Phillip Bell. After a brief solo turn as executive producer by William J. Bell at the series’ 1987 launch, the husband-and-wife duo executive produced together for almost eight years, until February 1996, when they stepped down and were succeeded by their son, Bradley Bell. Since then, Bradley Bell has steered the popular soap as its sole Executive Producer and Head Writer.
“Twenty-two years ago Casey Kasprzyk joined The Bold and the Beautiful at the front desk,” Bell said in an email to the cast and crew announcing Kasprzyk’s promotion. “Since then, Casey has flourished in every level of production.”
Kasprzyk began his Bold and the Beautiful career in 2003. He was promoted to Associate Producer in 2008 and Supervising Producer in 2014.
For his work on the show, Kasprzyk has earned four Daytime Emmy Awards to date, sharing in the 2011 Outstanding Drama Series win for producing the show’s homelessness storyline filmed in Los Angeles’ Skid Row, and winning three times in the Original Song category.
Over the years, Kasprzyk has worked closely with Bell to help shape memorable B&B moments such as the Emmy-nominated 7000th episode and a special two-part documentary filmed in Monaco. He has been leading international location shoots, overseeing productions in Italy, Australia, France, the Netherlands, Mexico, and Dubai, and directed the show’s summer shoot in Naples and Capri, Italy.
Additionally, Kasprzyk is the creator and host of Bold Live!, B&B’s official YouTube series, Most recently, he played a key role in the show’s relocation from its long-time home at Television City to its new base at Sunset Las Palmas Studios.
“Casey’s commitment and dedication to The Bold and the Beautiful has been extraordinary,” Bell said in his memo. “Casey’s creative accomplishments are too vast to quantify, as he has continually elevated the show to new heights.”
