Taylor Fritz has enjoyed a pretty solid 2025 campaign, even if he’s not yet managed to conquer one of the Grand Slam events.
Fritz defeated Valentin Vacherot at the Swiss Indoors in an entertaining match that the American player will be glad to come through.
Fritz admitted being frustrated with Vacherot, who won the Shanghai Masters as a qualifier earlier this month.
It’s still been an impressive year for Fritz, however, with the 27-year-old claiming victories over Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic this season – albeit at exhibition events.
Fritz snapped back at a fan on social media over the weekend, and he’s proving a good ambassador for tennis off the court just as he is on it.

Fritz is one of the most in-form players on the ATP Tour, even if the haul of major titles hasn’t yet been forthcoming in his career.
Right now, however, Fritz is showcasing his quality every single week on the tour, now claiming more wins than any other player during 2025.
Fritz has won 34 ATP Tour matches since the start of the grass-court season in June, and that is more than any player on the tour, including Alcaraz and Sinner.
Not only is it more than anyone else, but it’s actually four more, which is quite something given that he’s perhaps not won the titles that such consistency should reward.
Fritz won two tournaments on grass in June, first at the Stuttgart Open and then at Eastbourne, with a semifinal run at Wimbledon to take beyond the grass season.
Fritz sets another milestone vs Vacherot
During the live coverage on Sky Sports Tennis, an infographic popped up on the screen showcasing just how consistently consistent Fritz has proved in recent years.
Fritz is the first American player since Andy Roddick in 2000 to win 50 matches in a single season for three years running.
It represents a remarkable achievement and simply showcases that Fritz turns up every week at the majority of tournaments and brings his A-game.
There is, however, a new challenge that now awaits Fritz…
Fritz has to turn consistency into titles
Despite his consistent run of form since the grass-court season, Fritz hasn’t been able to turn it into wins at either a Grand Slam or an ATP 1000 event this season.
In fact, Fritz only has one ATP 1000 title to his name and that came all the way back in 2022 when he ousted Rafael Nadal at Indian Wells.
Fritz does appear to be close to his prime, and as a result, he will be hoping to finally get over the line and win one of the game’s big titles in the coming years.
Unlike other players, Fritz turns out at the vast majority of tournaments and perhaps there is now an argument to suggest he’d be wiser to pick more carefully in the future.
Fritz is far too good not to be collecting major tournament wins and these stats simply prove just how good he can be on his day.
