The World Series shifts to Dodger Stadium with both the Dodgers and Blue Jays flying to Los Angeles after Saturday night’s Game 2 in Toronto. At least two, and likely three games will be played at Dodger Stadium, and the pitching matchups have been set for Games 3 and 4.

Tyler Glasnow starts for the Dodgers on Monday against Max Scherzer for Toronto. Tuesday pits Shohei Ohtani against Shane Bieber in Game 4.

This is the same order the Dodgers used in setting their National League Championship Series rotation, with Blake Snell in Game 1 and Glasnow in Game 3 because, if needed, they would be available to start in Games 3 and 7, respectively, on four days rest. Yoshinobu Yamamoto and Ohtani get at least five days rest between starts.

Glasnow got five outs of scoreless, traffic-filled relief in Game 1 of the NLDS and then started in Game 4 against the Phillies and in Game 3 of the NLCS against the Brewers. He’s allowed only one run in 13 1/3 innings this October, with 18 strikeouts and eight walks.

Scherzer struggled down the stretch for the Blue Jays with a 9.00 ERA over 25 innings in six starts, and didn’t pitch during the American League Division Series. Scherzer struck out five, walked four, and allowed two runs in 5 2/3 innings in Game 4 of the ALCS, earning his eight career postseason win, and his first since 2019.

Ohtani has started twice on the mound this postseason for the Dodgers, and won both games. He struck out nine in six innings and allowed three runs in Game 1 of the NLDS, and struck out 10 in six-plus scoreless innings in Game 4 of the NLCS to clinch the pennant on October 17.

Toronto acquired Bieber at the trade deadline from the Guardians, while he was working his way back from Tommy John surgery. He had a 3.57 ERA in seven starts down the stretch, with 37 strikeouts and seven walks in 40 1/3 innings. Bieber has been up and down in his three postseason starts, pitching six innings once between starts of 2 2/3 and 3 2/3 innings. In all he has a 4.38 ERA in 12 1/3 innings this October with 15 strikeouts and three walks.
