Hockey is a passionate, physical sport that can sometimes make players hot under the collar, leading them to say things they might later regret.
The latest example came during the Montreal Canadiens-Vancouver Canucks game on Saturday night, when a camera trained on Canadiens’ young star, Ivan Demidov, caught an awfully mean-spirited comment on a hot mic.
“Keep running your mouth and I’ll take you right out of the f***in Olympics,” threatened an unknown player over the broadcast.
“Keep running you mouth and ill take you right out of the f*ckin olympics”
There was QUITE the exchange going on between the Canucks and Habs benches last night 😳🗣️

It’s unknown whether Demidov heard or understood the remark, but in the clip, he appears to react strongly to something and looks over to the Canucks bench to his left in shock.
There were over a dozen players in the game who could compete in the 2026 Winter Olympics in February.
Potential Olympic candidates
Montreal Canadiens
Nick Suzuki, Canada
Noah Dobson, Canada
Cole Caufield, USA
Lane Hutson, USA
Juraj Slafkovský, Slovakia
Oliver Kapanen, Finland
Jakub Dobes, Czechia
Sam Montembeault, Canada
Vancouver Canucks
Elias Pettersson, Sweden
Marcus Pettersson, Sweden
Lukas Reichel, Germany
Quinn Hughes, USA
Filip Hronek, Czechia
Thatcher Demko, USA
When the camera zooms out for the center ice faceoff, there’s noticeably one Canadiens and Canucks player leaning over the bench looking toward each other, but it’s unclear who is screaming or why.
Regardless, this is even more evidence that working inside the glass between the two benches must be one of the best jobs in sports.
