OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – The Omaha Police Department has arrested a man in connection to a deadly shooting earlier this month.
In an update Monday, OPD says 18-year-old Tranell Woodruff was arrested on charges of first-degree murder and use of a gun to commit a felony.

The suspect was booked Saturday at Douglas County Corrections following the murder of 27-year-old Dequrae Murrel. Murrel was shot on Oct. 5 and she died in the hospital on Oct. 6.
Police believe Murrel was found miles away from where the actual shooting took place.
Omaha Police wrapped yellow tape around the parking lot of Kelly’s Liquor Store at 30th and Pinkney streets. Investigators believe the shooting occurred a little more than five miles away at Levi Carter Park.
