The Boston Celtics will play the New Orleans Pelicans on Monday, Oct. 27, in what will be the second night of a back-to-back. Joe Mazzulla’s team lost to the Detroit Pistons on Sunday, Oct. 26, marking the first 0-3 start to the season since the 2013-14 season. During that loss, Jaylen Brown produced a stupendous game, ending the night with 41 points on 48.8% shooting from two-point range and 50% shooting from deep.
Unfortunately, the Celtics are now sweating on Brown’s availability for the game against the Pelicans. The All-Star forward is listed as “questionable” on the team’s injury report, as he continues work through a left hamstring strain. It’s worth noting that Brown was also listed as “questionable” heading into the Pistons game, but was ultimately cleared to play and proved himself to be the best player on the floor.

Outside of Brown, Jayson Tatum is the only other player on the team’s injury report, as he continues to rehab following his Achilles tendon tear during the Eastern Conference semifinals loss to the New York Knicks last season. Beyond the star forwards, Mazzulla will have a fully healthy roster to choose from.
The Celtics will undoubtedly want to secure a victory over the Pelicans; otherwise, they will fall to 0-4 as they complete their opening week of the new season.
