ATLANTA (Atlanta News First/Gray News) – A juvenile is in the hospital after he was shot while breaking into a vehicle, according to police.
On Friday at around 2:20 a.m., Atlanta police responded to Fairburn Rd SW where they found a juvenile with a gunshot wound to his foot.
The juvenile admitted during the investigation that he was shot after he broke into a vehicle, police said.
Investigators later learned that the owner of the vehicle, identified as 51-year-old Yoshay Carter, confronted the juvenile during the break-in and shot him in the foot.
Carter was taken into custody and charged with aggravated assault. He was booked at the Fulton County Jail.
The juvenile was transported to an Atlanta-area hospital for treatment.
Police said this is an ongoing investigation.
