“He did not (practice),” Sarkisian said Monday. “He’s in (concussion) protocol right now. We’ll have more information as the week goes.”

Manning was replaced by Matthew Caldwell, who was 1-for-1 for 10 yards and the game-winning touchdown pass in overtime to Emmett Mosley V. This year in backup duty, Caldwell is 8-for-11 for 85 yards and one score. He played in Texas’ three Group of Six games and made single passes at Florida and at Mississippi State.

In his career for FBS teams (Troy, Texas), Caldwell is 141-for-223 for 1698 yards with 14 touchdowns and eight interceptions.
