Kaouther Ben Hania’s Gaza drama The Voice of Hind Rajab, has landed a December 17, 2025 theatrical release in New York (Film Forum) and Los Angeles (Laemmle Theatres), with a national rollout to follow via the distribution arm of the pic’s production partner Willa.

The movie, which received the longest standing ovation at the Venice Film Festival at 23 minutes-plus and went on to win the Silver Lion Grand Jury Prize, is Tunisia’s official submission for the 98th Academy Awards.

Based on true events, pic follows Red Crescent volunteers as they struggle to send an ambulance to rescue a 6-year-old girl trapped under fire in Gaza. The film stars Saja Kilani, Motaz Malhees, Amer Hlehel and Clara Khoury.

The movie was produced by Oscar nominee Nadim Cheikhrouha (Four Daughters), Oscar winner Odessa Rae (Navalny) and Oscar winner James Wilson (The Zone of Interest), with EPs Brad
Pitt, Dede Gardner, Jeremy Kleiner, Rooney Mara, Joaquin Phoenix, Alfonso Cuarón and Jonathan Glazer.

The Voice of Hind Rajab also won the Audience Award at the San Sebastián Film Festival, the Audience Award for International Feature at the Middleburg Film Festival, and the Silver Hugo Jury Prize at the Chicago Film Festival. It has also screened at Toronto, BFI London, and AFI Fest among others.

The movie plans to screen ahead of its release at the UN, UK Parliament, EU Parliament, several U.S. universities, and community events in partnership with advocacy organizations nationwide.
