A Louisville man has been indicted for the death of a 1-year-old.Louisville Metro Police Department was called to the 1500 block of Haskin Avenue on Aug. 21, 2024, about a 1-year-old child who was unconscious and not breathing.EMS arrived on the scene and rushed the child to Norton Children’s Hospital. The baby later died at the hospital.LMPD said it arrested 24-year-old Gregory Ford on Tuesday on a fugitive bench warrant.He was indicted for murder on Monday in the death of the baby girl.”It gives me chills,” said Tymesha Thompson, neighbor, “There’s plenty of kids on this street. I have kids who live here and a 1-year-old, it just it really breaks my heart.” The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office identified the 1-year-old as Evani McAfee-Wooten. Her listed cause of death is blunt force injuries.Ford is also facing charges of first-degree strangulation (domestic violence) and fourth-degree assault (domestic violence) in another case.He is being held at Louisville Metro Corrections on a $100,000 bond.
