While Kysre Gondrezick has had trouble landing a roster spot in the WNBA, playing a total of 24 games for the Indiana Fever and the Chicago Sky, and averaging a measly 1.7 points on 28.3 percent shooting, she’s seeing more success off the court, thriving as a fashion model and even trying her luck as an actress.

Her most recent win, though, might be the most significant of her career, as the famed adult magazine Playboy announced that Gondrezick is its Playmate for the June 2025 issue.

The 28-year-old, who had been linked to former NBA Finals MVP Jaylen Brown of the Boston Celtics and Milwaukee Bucks guard Kevin Porter Jr., said that while some may see this move as her venturing into another lane, it’s the next step in the evolution of her career.

Building a multidimensional brand

Gondrezick was the fourth-overall pick of the 2021 WNBA Draft. Selected by the Indiana Fever, the 5’9′ guard played 19 games during her rookie season and did not impress, averaging 1.9 points and 1.0 rebounds per game. In January 2022, the Fever waived her. Intent on giving her basketball dreams another shot, she joined the Sky for their training camp that year but did not make the final cut.

In February 2024, she again joined the Sky’s camp, and this time around, she made it to the team’s opening-day roster but was released after playing in only five games.

Fortunately, Gondrezick has kept herself busy with her modeling career, which got the jolt it needed after posing for Playboy.

“What people label as a transition, I embody as evolution,” she stated. “I’m not stepping outside who I am. I’m building a multidimensional brand.”

Basketball remains the main thing

Although Gondrezick will have her pick of opportunities in the modeling world, she insists that basketball is still her priority. Returning to the WNBA would be ideal, but she’s also keeping her eye out for playing in Unrivaled, the fast-growing league founded by Minnesota Lynx superstar Napheesa Collier and New York Liberty ace Breanna Stewart.

“Obviously it didn’t pan out the way that I anticipated into the completion of a season, but I don’t question God,” she said in a piece on the New York Post regarding how hectic her schedule has been, trying to juggle a hoop and modeling career.

“I’m just excited to see the outcome of what my journey is going to be with the W, because I don’t think that I’m done anytime soon. I don’t want to say that that was an ending. I want to say it was more so a transition,” she continued.

As passionate as Gondrezick is about playing professional basketball, she’s found her calling in the fashion world. And with her Playboy stint set to raise her profile even further, it’s clear that fans will be seeing more of this woman, whether on the hardwood floor, in photoshoots, or on the catwalk.
