Glamour’s Women of the Year list recognizes the world’s most extraordinary women who are trailblazers, rule breakers, visionaries, and champions who have defined the year. There are three honorees who stand out for how they’ve moved in their industries: Pat McGrath, Tyla, and the WNBA (because word to Issa Rae, we’re rooting for everybody Black!)

Pat McGrath has been and remains a defining force in beauty. The makeup artist turned entrepreneur is celebrating a milestone 10 years of Pat McGrath Labs, reinforcing her as a backstage beauty and beast, as well as a successful leader in business whose creative vision continues to shape cosmetics.

Tyla’s global year of ascension is also upon us. The 23-year-old South African popstar extended her reach with a viral song that won’t quit, major festival performances, and a coveted Grammy win. The effortless way she’s infiltrating the world with South African sounds has been fun to watch.

And finally, the women of the WNBA aren’t honored as individuals, but as a movement: players who transformed women’s basketball into a cultural moment, increasing viewership, making equity the conversation, and pushing the league into new commercial and social territory. Glamour just had to call out these women for their influence on the sport and the culture as a whole in 2025.

Glamour got it right with these ladies. They all represent different kinds of power — creative, commercial, and athletic who aren’t trending topics, they’re culture-makers.
