Police in Birmingham are investigating a shooting involving an officer that left one injured on Wednesday.It happened on Brunson Avenue on Wednesday evening, according to the Birmingham Police Department. That’s a residential area in the Zion City neighborhood.Police say they were called to the scene in response to an altercation at a residence involving “a person that was being violent.” Weapons were also possibly involved.When officers arrived, shots were fired, and a person was struck. They were treated at the scene and transported to UAB Hospital for further treatment.No officers were injured.
