NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) – North Charleston Police confirmed three people were shot Monday and one of the victims was wounded while driving by the area of the shooting.
Police responded to the area of Dorchester Road and Andrews Street after receiving about 20 calls about gunfire, North Charleston Deputy Chief Rick Keys said.

When they arrived, they found two males lying in the roadway, Keys said. He described the victims as being “of a young age,” but did not immediately provide an update on their condition.
Police found the third victim a short distance away, he said.
Keys confirmed nine people were being detained as possible suspects about a half-mile from the shooting scene and that police have the suspect car.
As of around 1:30 p.m., police were working to reopen Dorchester Road.
