Plans have been revealed for the residential conversion of the existing school building at 2401 West Congress Parkway in Tri-Taylor. Sitting on the corner of South Western Avenue, the four-story building stands across the street from the Eisenhower Expressway and is part of a larger development led by 4Corners LLC.

The building sits next to a two-story home at 2411 West Congress Parkway, which is scheduled to be demolished to make way for a five-story residential structure led by the same team. Both projects are being designed by Kennedy Mann. The former Catholic Bishop of Chicago school will have its façade restored, with several new windows added.

The lower level will include a small bike room, fitness room, back-of-house spaces, and several residential units. The main floor will feature a large lobby that connects to the remaining 52 residential units, consisting of 34 studios and 18 one-bedroom apartments. Of these, 11 units will be designated as affordable housing.

There will be no on-site parking or outdoor space available to residents. The development team has already applied for zoning approval from the city, though no price tag or construction timeline has been established. It is not yet known which of the two proposals will begin construction first.
