Many mothers say that their children will always remain their babies, no matter how big they get. Apparently, this applies just as much to wombats as it does to humans.
In this video, one rather large wombat cub refuses to give away his spot inside his mother’s pouch, and we totally relate to his struggle of not wanting to leave his mother’s side, LOL.
Wow, this is simply too sweet! Clearly, this wombat cub is capable of walking on their own, and they can barely even fit inside their mama’s pouch anymore, but that doesn’t change the fact that her pouch is undoubtedly so much cozier than the outside world.
We can’t blame this precious little baby for refusing to leave, even if he is capable of walking around on his own.
As this video notes, “This little one just can’t give up his cozy spot in the pouch – tiny legs out, but his heart still tucked inside!” It doesn’t really get much more precious than this! The Internet completely related to this adorable little wombat cub’s struggle.
Instagram user maddieryn214 was practically gushing through her keyboard when she typed, “Trying so hard to fit back inside, some babies just want to stay babies… Who can blame them?”
No, we certainly cannot blame this little wombat for wanting to stay inside his mother’s cozy pouch, LOL.

Meanwhile, some other women also hopped in the comments section to share that they have had similar experiences with their sons.
Instagram user 619_zoogramma shared her own personal experience with this when she wrote, “Me and my 18-year-old when he was told it’s time to grow up, LOL… Boy, mom life. Haha!”
With Instagram user realaimeeo commenting that this behavior seems to transcend species when she wrote, “Little guy isn’t ready to leave mama. They’re all the same!”
More Wombat Cuteness
This other video shows how adorable mama wombats and their cubs are when they are just hanging out together.
In this footage, this precious little wombat cub refuses to go very far from his mother’s side. While this cub sniffs through the grass, possibly looking for something to munch on, they never go very far from her.
It’s almost like after taking more than three steps away from their mama, their “spider senses” start tingling and they urgently turn around, retreating to the safety of their mother’s side, LOL.
Honestly, this is just too precious! If every wombat cub looks this cute with their mother, then we hope they all stay with each other forever, LOL!
