Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner have dominated the ATP Tour in 2025, but Felix Auger-Aliassime has also really impressed.

While he hasn’t been able to emulate Alcaraz and Sinner, Auger-Aliassime has managed to claim three ATP titles this season.

He fell just short of a fourth at the Paris Masters, where Sinner beat Auger-Aliassime in the final for his fifth title of 2025.

Leading the way is Alcaraz on eight, although the Spaniard lost his opener in France to Cameron Norrie, and has since lost his world number one ranking to Sinner.

Sinner has tipped Auger-Aliassime for Masters 1000 success in the future, while former world number one Jimmy Connors has now shared a prediction of his own on the talented Canadian.

He said on the Advantage Connors podcast: “It’s good to see that he has continued. That he has not sat back and said I made the US Open semifinals and live off of that for five years, like some guys have done in the past.

“He has continued and is keeping his game on a high level and is beating players and getting to the semis and the finals and putting pressure on the top guys also, which is good to see.

“Maybe he is that next guy. Maybe he is the guy who is going to sneak in there and get a little confidence. All he has to do is beat either one of them one time and then he is going to say I can do this.

“It will be interesting to see the year is winding down for the guys too, but starting in Australia, to see how he picks his game up and where his game is will be interesting.”

What is Felix Auger-Aliassime’s Grand Slam history?

As Connors alluded to, Auger-Aliassime enjoyed a superb run at this year’s US Open, reaching the semifinals in New York.

But that was an outlier for his 2025 Grand Slam season, with the 25-year-old having really struggled elsewhere.

A much-improved overall Grand Slam season should be on his agenda for 2026, but he will first be eyeing a strong finish to his current campaign.

And that could involve an appearance at the ATP Finals, with Auger-Aliassime currently occupying the eighth and final spot for the year-end event in Turin.

New ATP number eight Auger-Aliassime is in a direct battle for qualification with Lorenzo Musetti, but the Canadian can be hugely proud of his season regardless of what happens for the event later this month.

And it should give him plenty of confidence going forward, with Auger-Aliassime staking a strong claim for the player most likely to mount a serious challenge to Sinner and Alcaraz in 2026.
