Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra Piles on PS5 Delay Misery 1

It’s been a bad 24 hours for PS5 game delays, with GTA 6 pushed back to 19th November late last night.

While no where near as impactful, Skydance Games has now confirmed that Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra will not release in early 2026 as anticipated. The worry here is that the team didn’t provide an alternative launch window.

In a statement, it said:

“Marvel 1943: Rise of the Hydra is an ambitious project, and we are committed to ensuring it meets the level of quality that our team, players, and fans expect. To fully realise our vision for Marvel 1943: Rise of the Hydra, we’ve made the decision to shift our release date beyond early 2026.”

For those who don’t know, this project is being headed by Uncharted veteran Amy Hennig, so there’s immediate pedigree here.

It’s set during World War 2 and will centre on the alliance between Captain America and the Black Panther. You’ll control four characters in total, with Howling Commandos member Gabriel Jones and Wakandan Spy Network leader Nanali also playable.

On paper, it all sounds fantastic, but this project is taking a long time to come together. It was originally announced all the way back in 2019, and we haven’t seen an enormous amount since.

Plaion did pick up publishing duties in 2024 so we’re hopeful this project will reach the finish line, but with no alternative release window revealed, who knows how much longer we’ll need to wait to play this?
