Jimmy Kimmel Live! was postponed last night as a result of a “personal matter” involving the host.

It’s unclear exactly why ABC did not air the show, but a message sent to fans who were set to attend the taping at the El Capitan Theatre were told that it was “postponed” and that they would receive tickets to a future taping.

The episode was set to feature Malice star David Duchovny, Stranger Things star Joe Keery and musical act Madison Beer.

Beer also sent a social media post to her fans saying, “Due to unforeseen circumstances, Jimmy Kimmel Live needed to reschedule my performance that was originally set to air tonight to a later date. I’ll share more details on timing when I can, I can’t wait for you all to see it.”

Instead, ABC aired a repeat of the show from October 28.

It’s rare for Kimmel, or any of the broadcast late-night hosts, to miss a show, but given the nightly demands on these figures, occasionally there are personal issues that require their attention.
