DETROIT – When Sam Rosen called his final Rangers game inside Madison Square Garden on April 17, the longtime broadcaster already knew it would be far from his last time inside the World’s Most Famous Arena.

Toward the end of the 2024-25 season, president and general manager Chris Drury approached Rosen about helping the organization with their plans for the upcoming centennial season celebration.

The 78-year-old, who spent 40-plus years as the Blueshirts play-by-play announcer before hanging up the mic at the end of last season, was thrilled.

On Saturday night ahead of the Rangers’ matchup with the Islanders, Rosen will return to MSG for the first time to begin his duties as the Master of Ceremonies for the second theme night, which will honor “Milestones and Moments” of the franchise.
