Regarding an incident that took place today near the North County Primary School, the Bonne Terre Police Department has issued the following public information release:

“At approximately 2:30 PM on November 7, 2025, Officers of the Bonne Terre Police Department were dispatched to the area of M.C. Black Road for a subject experiencing a mental health crisis and threatening suicide by firearm. Due to the nature of the incident and the close proximity to the North County Primary School, school resource officers were contacted, and safety protocols were followed, including the campus being placed on lockdown. During the incident, no threats were made against the school, nor did the suspect enter upon school property; this was simply a precaution due to the close proximity of the incident.

Officers arrived within minutes and discovered the subject had fled into a nearby wooded area, and it was confirmed that the subject was armed with a firearm. Officers of the Bonne Terre Police Department and Deputies from the St. Francois County Sheriff’s Department pursued the subject into the wooded area, east of M.C. Black Road. Shortly thereafter, the subject was disarmed and taken into custody without further incident. The subject was taken to the St. Francois County Jail and held on pending charges.Subsequently, officers employed crisis intervention protocols, and assisted by the subject’s family members, an application was made for a mental health evaluation.

The Bonne Terre Police Department would like to thank the St. Francois County Sheriff’s Department, St. Francois County Ambulance District, Missouri State Highway Patrol, North County School District and its School Resource Officers, Farmington Fire Department, and St. Francois County 911 for their assistance in bringing this situation to a swift and peaceful resolution.

Sincerely,
Chief Jasen Crump”
