Workers called upon Tenor Health to honor the current union contract and to secure a stable future for the hospitals.
SCRANTON, Pa. — On Saturday, healthcare workers and elected officials gathered in Lackawanna County for a rally to express concerns about the health of the city’s hospitals.Â
This comes after Tenor Health signed a purchase agreement to acquire the Commonwealth Health System, including the Regional Hospital of Scranton, Moses Taylor Hospital, and the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
Workers at the gathering called on Tenor Health to honor the current union contract and secure a stable future for the hospitals.
Corrine Cianfichi, an occupational therapist at the Regional Hospital of Scranton, said, “We have persevered through the nerve-wracking stress of the past year because we’re dedicated to staying by our patients’ sides. Now we call on all the stakeholders to stand by our sides.”
Healthcare workers at Scranton City Hall say the contract allows them to better advocate for their patients.
