Chris Cornell was honored by his family at the 2025 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction ceremony on Saturday. His daughter, Toni, 21, performed an acoustic version of the song “Fell on Black Days” with Heart’s Nancy Wilson on guitar. Toni delivered a powerful and emotional performance of the song her father wrote for Soundgarden’s 1995 album “Superunknown.”
Afterwards, Toni headed to the press room where she talked about how important this would be for her father, to be honored in the Hall of Fame.
Chris Cornell’s daughter honors father at Rock & Roll Hall of Fame: ‘I wish he was here’
“It’s so surreal, and I’m so honored that I get to be here and do this for my dad at the end of the day. I just wish he was here to see this tremendous honor for himself. I know how proud he would have been, but he’s the whole reason why I do music. So being here and being able to share my voice because of him is amazing, and it’s such an honor [] and I really wanted to channel how my dad would have performed that song on his own.”

Toni is also working on her own music, saying, “I’m just at the point of finding myself right now, which is what my dad taught me to do. He didn’t believe in putting yourself in a box or a genre, and that’s still something that I’m exploring myself so I continue to do music while honoring him, and he wouldn’t have wanted anything less.”
