Another water main break along Cottman Avenue in Northeast Philadelphia is causing issues.

It happened along Cottman and Oxford Avenues the morning of Tuesday, July 22, 2025, a day after a separate water main break had occurred just 3 miles away.

NBC10 was on scene, and water could be seen pouring into the street. Crews are currently working to make repairs.

Due to this new issue, Cottman Avenue is shut down between Rising Sun Avenue and Bingham Street. All lanes, including side streets, are closed.

The other water main break happened around 3 p.m. on Monday, July 21. Officials said crews were called to the area of Cottman Avenue and James Street for the leak.

The leak was reportedly coming from an eight-inch main, officials said. Workers had shut the main off so they could fix it.

Franklin Street is closed above Cottman Avenue. Officials stated that some nearby businesses are currently without water due to the repairs.
