AVON, Ohio – A USL 2 soccer franchise is set to begin play next year at ForeFront Field.
The team, which will compete in the Lake Erie Crushers’ newly named stadium, will be part of a massive league that already includes a team in Akron. Plans are for a men’s team to start play in 2026 and a women’s team to be added in 2027, said Andrew McDonnell of the Lorain County FC.
