PLEASANTON, CA — With all the cold and rain, a summery beach may be the last thing on anyone’s mind, but here’s a little ray of sunshine: the Beach Boys are coming to Pleasanton next summer.

The Alameda County Fair announced that the iconic 1960s band will play at the fair’s Big O Tires Concert Series on July 1, 2026, and tickets go on sale soon. The famous band was formed in 1961, and went onto become one of the most critically acclaimed and commercially successful bands of all time, selling over 100 million records worldwide. They became a staple sound of the 1960s with a string of hits like “Good Vibrations,” “God Only Knows,” “Surfin’ U.S.A.,” and “California Girls” that were dubbed the “California sound.”

The group was ranked number 12 on Rolling Stone’s list of the greatest artist of all time, and all the founding members were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1988.

Current members include Mike Love, who has been with the band since 1961, and Bruce Johnson, who joined in 1965, as well as a large touring ensemble. Brian Wilson, arguably the band’s most well-known member, toured until 2022, and died in June 2025.

Season Pass holders can buy tickets starting at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 10. Tickets will go on sale for the general public Friday, Dec. 12 at 9 a.m. No other acts for the 2026 concert series have been announced .

From Nov. 26 to Dec. 2, the fair is holding a Black Friday Sale, offering large discounts on admission, season passes, early access to concert seats, Wine Fest, and carnival wrist bands. The fair will also pay all ticket processing fees.
