AM Best’s Performance Assessment (PA) for DUAEs, introduced in 2022, evaluates both quantitative and qualitative aspects of underwriting operations. Scores range from PA-1, the highest, to PA-5, the lowest. The assessment considered factors including underwriting capabilities, governance, internal controls, financial condition, organizational talent, and market partnerships.
