DETROIT — Former Detroit Tigers infielder Eddys Leonard has signed a minor-league deal with the Milwaukee Brewers.
Leonard, 25, spent most of 2025 with the Atlanta Braves’ Triple-A affiliate after being released by the Tigers at the start of the season.
Leonard was acquired from the Los Angeles Dodgers at the 2023 trade deadline, shortly after the Eduardo Rodriguez deal fell through, and immediately made a positive impression at Triple-A Toledo. But he battled injuries in 2024 and was designated for assignment after the season.
He went 2-for-15 with a double during a short stint in big-league camp in 2025.
A one-time shortstop prospect, Leonard’s path to the big leagues is now as a utility man. He started games at first, second, third, short and right field with Gwinnett in 2025. He hit 20 home runs in 494 plate appearances.
