RICHLAND COUNTY, Wis. — The Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection has confirmed that a 3-year-old buck tested positive for chronic wasting disease in Richland County, prompting the deer farm to be quarantined.
According to DATCP, the National Veterinary Services Laboratories in Ames, Iowa, confirmed the result.
“The premises is quarantined, where it will remain while DATCP and the U.S. Department of Agriculture veterinarians and staff conduct the epidemiological investigation,” said DATCP.
