A busted brake light led to a drug arrest in Manitowoc over the weekend.
A Manitowoc Police officer was on routine patrol at 10:00 Saturday night (November 15th), when they noticed a vehicle with a faulty brake light. A traffic stop was conducted on the northbound side of the 600 block of North 7th Street, and K9 Riley was called to conduct a sniff of the vehicle.
K9 Riley alerted the officers to the presence of drugs, and a search was conducted, uncovering an open container of vodka, numerous items of drug paraphernalia, and a baggie of methamphetamine.
When asked if he was willing to speak with the officers, the 47-year-old man said “there was nothing to talk about.”
He was cited for Failure to Properly Maintain Exhaust System, Operating a Motor Vehicle Without Insurance, and Keeping Open Intoxicants in a Motor Vehicle, and was arrested on charges of Possession of Methamphetamine and Drug Paraphernalia.
