Kate Martin, Lexie Hull and other WNBA stars lose it on social media after Veronica Burton’s latest post. The 2025 Most Improved Player shared some images from her offseason, which included a couple of horse-riding pictures that caught her peers off guard.

In a post on Instagram, Burton shared multiple images from the late stages of the 2025 WNBA season and the subsequent offseason. Some of the pictures include the Valkyries crowd at the Chase Center, friends and family, and playing volleyball on the beach.

However, the two images that got the most attention were Burton riding a horse like a cowboy. It also didn’t look like she was just riding for the experience but for the thrill of it. The path wasn’t on flat ground but uphill, which is more difficult.

“Some late season pics, some off season pics and some pics of me on a horse!😁,” Burton wrote.

Several WNBA players couldn’t believe what Veronica Burton was doing in her offseason. Teammates like Kate Martin and Laeticia Amihere, as well as other players, such as Lexie Hull, commented on Burton’s post.

“Been laughing for 5 min straight at horse pics,” Martin wrote.
“Some of these pictures are very wholesome. Some of these pictures are a little concerning,” Amihere commented.
“I miss my VB,” Monique Billings replied.

“Omg it looks like you had soo much fun on the horse,” Naz Hillmon remarked.
“🤠🤠🤠,” Hull commented.
“There’s our MIP!!” Tiffany Hayes wrote.

Veronica Burton was named the WNBA’s Most Improved Player this season after averaging 11.9 points, 4.4 rebounds, 6.0 assists and 1.1 steals per game. Those numbers were all career highs, as the Golden State Valkyries made the playoffs in their inaugural season.

The biggest news in the WNBA over the past month is the ongoing CBA negotiations, with the deadline set at the end of November. If both sides can’t agree on a new deal, there will be a lockout until things are settled.

The Golden State Valkyries only have two players under contract for next season in Kate Martin and Carla Leite. Both players are still on their rookie deals, so they won’t benefit from the new CBA if it gets approved.

It will be interesting to see how the WNBA landscape changes once the new CBA is signed. More than 100 players are set to hit the market this offseason.
