Imagine dropping your Apple Watch on the floor while sleeping only to unleash an epic duel between your wearable and the normally docile household robot vacuum. Well, this is exactly what has happened with one Reddit user.

To wit, a Reddit user, who goes by the username u/wongjoo, has just described an incident in the r/AppleWatch thread.

According to this netizen, they dropped their Apple Watch Series 7 on the floor while sleeping, where it was found by the household robot vacuum. In its bid to remove the said device from the floor, the robot vacuum gave copious scratches and grooves to the Apple Watch’s display, bestowing an overall “matte finish” to the otherwise pristine display.

According to the Reddit user, they only use their smart watch at night or during those exceedingly rare occasions when they actually work out. Surprisingly, the mangled condition of the Apple Watch does not bother our brave netizen, but they are looking for “cheap ways to maybe buff out the scratches.”

Of course, the comments under our netizen’s Reddit post took the proverbial crown for hilarity, with one user asking if the robot vacuum took the smart watch outside and dragged “it along the sidewalk for an hour,” while another commenting that the robot vacuum “knew EXACTLY what it was doing.”

Given the mangled condition of our netizen’s Apple Watch Series 7, we would recommend that they look into upgrading to Apple’s Series 11 smart watch, which offers an updated S11 chip, a 5G-capable modem from MediaTek, and a hypertension alert system.
