In her caption, Dantas reflected on her journey, recalling how she first signed with Nike at age 17 without knowing what the future held.
“I couldn’t imagine conquering so much, let alone being a part of a family as special as Nike has in my life,” she said in Portuguese.
“I look back and see that every step was worth it. Every practice, every fall, every beginning, every doubt and every victory. Sport changed my life and today I’m living proof that when there is care, investment and opportunity, a harvest comes.”
Dantas served as a reserve for the Fever over the last two seasons, posting averages of 4.6 points and 2.3 rebounds. She arrived in 2024, Clark’s rookie campaign, and has appeared off the bench in all 58 of her games with the franchise.
When will Caitlin Clark’s Nike shoes be released?
Fever standout Caitlin Clark revealed in August that she had signed on with Nike as a signature athlete. She debuted a personal logo featuring two C’s (her initials shaped like a Venn diagram, with a third C in the intersection.
Clark’s signature sneaker line with Nike is expected to launch in 2026.
With only two months left in the year, Nike CEO Elliott Hill hinted in a Nov. 15 Wall Street Journal interview that the shoe is definitely on the way.
“That shoe’s coming,” Hill said when asked about Clark’s signature shoe release (per Sports Illustrated).
“We’re gonna continue to invest in our women’s business. We’ve had a great response to the logo we’ve created for Caitlin. Clark has been a tremendous person to work with, and we want to make sure that we have everything from her logo to the product exactly the way she wants it before we launch it.”
Clark, the No. 1 pick in the 2024 WNBA draft and the NCAA Division I all-time scoring leader, agreed to a long-term Nike contract reportedly valued at $28 million. The agreement is viewed as the most lucrative sponsorship deal ever secured by a women’s basketball star.
