The Mets officially have an overhauled coaching staff.

Following a calamitous, playoff-less season, the Mets are retaining just three coaches under manager Carlos Mendoza. Otherwise, the eight additional coaches announced Wednesday will be new faces in the team’s dugout.

Among the group, three were previously unreported, all of whom will be joining the major league staff after promotions from the minor leagues:

• The assistant pitching coach will be Dan McKinney, who last season completed his third year with the Mets and first as Double-A Binghamton’s pitching coach.

McKinney is close with several of the promising young Mets prospects, including Jonah Tong, Nolan McLean and Brandon Sproat.

• The first base and outfield coach will be Gilbert Gomez, who will be returning for an eighth season coaching in the organization and last season managed High-A Brooklyn to its first South Atlantic League championship. Gomez, 33, had been a Mets minor league outfielder from 2009-15.

Gomez will be replacing the well-regarded Antoan Richardson, who engineered the majors’ best running game last season and was invited back but could not come to an agreement with the Mets. Richardson now has the same role with the Braves.

• The catching coach will be J.P. Arencibia, who will be back for a fifth season in the organization. The former six-year MLB catcher had spent the past three years as bench coach and assistant hitting coach for Triple-A Syracuse and is close with Francisco Alvarez.
