As the holidays approach, people are feeling the pinch of tariffs and inflation. Consumer sentiment is down, and CNBC reports that a retail analyst suggests expectations of “weaker holiday spending…as consumers face a challenging mix of higher tariffs, slower job growth and pressure on lower-income households.”

Well, Fox News decided to offer some “money-saving tips” for its viewers to make sure they don’t overspend during the holidays. Yesterday, on America’s Newsroom, anchor Dana Perino spoke with Jade Warshaw, co-host of The Ramsey Show, to discuss how folks can save money this holiday season.

“Budget, budget, budget. You need a plan,” Warshaw said. “Also, remember: Adults don’t need gifts, ok?”

“Focus on the people in your life who are aged 3 to 18. Grandma doesn’t need slippers.”

“If they don’t live by you, don’t get them a gift. Now’s not the time to spend and break the bank sending packages across the country, Dana!”

“Focus on the people in your life, ages 3 to 18. That’s my 30 seconds for ya.”

Unsurprisingly, people were pretty taken aback by the suggestion. ”‘fuck grandma’ is a hell of a message from Republicans to close the year.”

“Fuck you grandma, you’re too old for Christmas this year.”

“Is this the ‘war on Christmas?’”

“Fox News, what the hell are you doing. Your audience isn’t people who might save money by kicking Grandma out of Christmas. Your audience is Grandma.”

And finally, ”‘Grandma doesn’t need slippers because she’s going to lose her feet when she can’t get health insurance.’”
