Jordan Firstman has just wrapped production on his feature directorial debut.

The internet-born multihyphenate, currently starring in HBO’s just-renewed “I Love L.A.,” will write, direct and star in “Club Kid” from Topic Studios. Set in New York City, the film follows a washed-up underground party promoter whose life takes an unexpected turn when he’s forced to look after a son that he never knew he had.

For his first big foray into film, Firstman has recruited model-turned-actor Cara Delevingne (“American Horror Story,” “Suicide Squad”), Diego Calva (“Babylon,” “On Swift Horses”) and Eldar Isgandarov as costars. Newcomer Reggie Absolom will play the titular kid.

The project also marks the first big effort from “Anora” producer Alex Coco, in the months following an historic Oscar night for the Sean Baker and Mikey Madison dramedy. Coco will produce “Club Kid” with Galen Core (“Pet Shop Days,” “Lurker”). Firstman, Olmo Schnabel and Daniela Taplin serve as executive producers. Topic financed the project with Stay Gold. UTA Independent Film Group is handling worldwide sales. More artistic cred: Firstman shot the film in 35mm, with cinematographer Adam Newport Berra (who just won an Emmy for “The Studio”).

Firstman’s acting credits have mounted in recent years, including two seasons of FX’s “The English Teacher and “I Love L.A..” Earlier this year, he released his debut comedy concept album “Secrets” via Capitol Records. The record was inspired by his viral Instagram series where strangers submitted their deepest confessions and Firstman turned them into songs. On the film side, he was praised for a strong debut in Sebastián Silva’s 2023 Independent Spirt Award-nominated “Rotting in the Sun.” Firstman also has writing credits on “Search Party,” “The Other Two” and “Big Mouth.”

Firstman is represented by UTA, Black Bear, The Lede Company and Frankfurt Kurnit Klein & Selz. Delevingne is represented by UTA, Brillstein Entertainment Partners and  Sloane, Offer, Weber & Dean.
