MISHAWAKA, Ind. (WSBT) — Two people have been killed in a crash involving a Transpo bus in Mishawaka.

Police responded to the intersection of Grape Road and Imus Drive around 7:45 Friday evening.

Investigators said a black passenger car driving southbound lost control on the wet pavement, crossed the center line, and crashed into the bus.

Both people in the car died.

The driver of the Transpo bus suffered serious but non-life threatening injuries.

Police said they believe one person was on the bus, but they left the scene before emergency crews arrived.

Grape Road is closed for at least a couple more hours.
