Driver killed in fiery head-on crash on Route 40 in Washington County

One person died following a head-on crash in North Bethlehem Township, Washington County Tuesday. The crash happened a little after 5:30 a.m. Tuesday on Route 40 (East National Pike) near Valley View Road.The coroner’s office said Chayse Allen, 18, was heading east when Allen’s car collided with a westbound vehicle. NORTH BETHLEHEM TOWNSHIP, Pa. —
One person died following a head-on crash in North Bethlehem Township, Washington County Tuesday.
The crash happened a little after 5:30 a.m. Tuesday on Route 40 (East National Pike) near Valley View Road.
The coroner’s office said Chayse Allen, 18, was heading east when Allen’s car collided with a westbound vehicle. After the crash, both vehicles were engulfed in flames.
Allen, of South Strabane Township, died at the scene.
The crash is under investigation by Pennsylvania State Police.
