Initial reactions and Observations
Bayern had a rough start but they eventually got into the groove and showed the Kompany Bayern that everyone knows.Michael Olise and Lennart Karl are pure ballers.Bayern dominated after a certain midfielder went off. Coincidence? Unlikely.
Thanks for tuning in! We’ve got the big one up next, Arsenal. Bayern can certainly beat them. We’ll see y then!
85’ – TOR! Ito provides an assist on his return, teeing up Michael Olise who does an Arjen Robben and curls it into the top left corner!
83’ – Hiroki Ito is back! Aleksandar Pavlovic makes way for him. Similarly, Kane makes way for Wisdom Mike.
78’ TOR! Bayern extend their lead after Nicolas Jackson makes it five for Bayern!
77’ – Both teams make some subs.
70’ – Karl appears to be in discomfort, and thus gets replaced by Nicolas Jackson.
60’ – TOR! Harry Kane gets in on the action and Bayern have four!
55’ – TOR! Michael Olise’s corner finds an unmarked Dayot Upamecano who slots the ball home!
45’ – We’re back! Konrad Laimer is subbed on.
Set pieces continue to be a weak spot for Bayern, a worrying thing to know about ahead of playing Arsenal who thrive on set pieces.Bayern started off sloppily but those two goals woke them up and managed to equalize just before the break.Lennart Karl, Michael Olise, and Luis Diaz are standout players so far, followed by Harry Kane.
45+3’ TOR! Bayern have clawed back after Lennart Karl returns the favor to Michael Olise whose shot slips through Noah Atobulu’s hands.
37’ – Bayern still on the prowl for that equalizer.
21’ – TOR! Michael Olise does brilliantly to set up Lennart Karl, whose weak footed finish pulls one back for Bayern.
17’ – Neuer misjudges a header from a corner kick and Bayern is now 2-0 down.
12’ – Bayern’s uncharacteristically poor play leads to them going behind after only 12 minutes played.
5’ – Both sides getting a feel of the match, but Freiburg nearly drew first blood early on.
Kickoff! – We are underway!
Lineups are out! Vincent Kompany rolls with a rotated squad, obviously with an eye on the Arsenal match.
Bayern Munich’s Germany contingent help beat Slovakia in the final qualifying match, sending them to the playoffs. The rest of Bayern’s international crew had a busy break from club action (can’t really call it a break now, can we?), but now all of them must congregate once more and their next adversary is SC Freiburg.
The Breisgau-based team is lingering in the middle of the table, with their results being a mixed bag, with a 3-4-3 (W-D-L) record ahead of their meeting with the Bavarians. The Rekordmeister meanwhile has picked up 28 points from a possible 30 so far in the league, and it is certain that they will make it 31 from 33 after this match.
Prediction: Bayern wins 3-0
