Tehran – BORNA – Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the President of Ukraine, responded to US President Donald Trump’s earlier criticism by expressing gratitude for the efforts of the United States.

The Ukrainian President wrote on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) late Sunday: “The leadership of the United States is important, and we are grateful for everything that America and President Trump are doing for security, and we will continue constructive cooperation as much as possible.”

In the same message, Zelenskyy stated that he is awaiting new reports from negotiating teams in Switzerland and mentioned a call with French President Emmanuel Macron: “I spoke with French President Emmanuel Macron. Our teams are working with partners in Geneva, and it is very important that a practical result is achieved and brings Ukraine and all of Europe closer to reliable peace and security.”

He added that Ukraine is currently focusing on diplomatic coordination: “We are coordinating our positions, and it is important that dialogue exists and diplomacy is strengthened again. We also count on our partners to hear our arguments.”

Earlier, US President Donald Trump criticized Volodymyr Zelenskyy, stating: “The President of Ukraine has shown no appreciation for our efforts, and Europe continues to buy oil from Russia.”
