WNBA fans are salivating at the thought of a potential WNBA reunion between Azzi Fudd and Paige Bueckers.
On Sunday, the Dallas Wings secured the No. 1 pick for the second season in a row after winning the 2026 WNBA Draft Lottery. Whereas Bueckers was a shoe-in for the first overall selection in the 2025 draft, the top prospect in this year’s class isn’t firmly solidified.
Yet according to many fans and pundits online, the Wings’ pick should be an obvious one. Taking to social media, droves of Dallas supporters expressed their desire to see Fudd rejoin her former UConn teammate and girlfriend, Bueckers, at the professional level.

“DALLAS WINGS WELCOME TO YOUR DYNASTY ERA WITH PAIGE BUECKERS AND AZZI FUDD,” one X user wrote, with another adding: “AZZI FUDD GET EXCITED TO REUNITE WITH YOUR GF ON THE WINGS AND BRING BACK THE BEST DUO EVERRR PAIGE AND AZZI OMFG.”
A third chimed in, “AZZI FUDD YOU ARE A DALLAS WINGS!!!! If Curt pass on you I will judge him for the rest his life!!!!”
Bueckers and Fudd played three seasons together at UConn, though a multitude of injuries limited both star players at various times.
Once able to finally share the court for an entire season, the couple propelled the Huskies to a national championship while each averaging over 25 minutes per game.
After Bueckers opted to leave Storrs one year earlier than Fudd, the 24-year-old wasted little time before finding her footing in the WNBA.

Over 36 games last season, she averaged 19.2 points, 5.4 assists, 3.9 rebounds, and 1.6 steals en route to being named the 2025 Rookie of the Year.
Fudd, meanwhile, has continued to hold down the fort at UConn, as the Huskies currently rank No. 1 in the nation with a perfect 6-0 record. Entering play Sunday, the Arlington, Virginia native was averaging 20.4 points, 3.8 assists and three rebounds per contest.
Women’s basketball legend Rebecca Lobo, for one, believes that Bueckers and Fudd would make quite a formidable combo in the WNBA. “First of all, I think the entire state of Connecticut and any UConn Husky fan across the country are thrilled with the notion that Azzi Fudd could potentially rejoin Paige Bueckers down in Dallas,” she began.

“And I do think she would be a phenomenal fit there. Just because we saw how good those two were together on the court over the past couple years.
“But to me, Azzi Fudd, because of her ability to score, and the way she can shoot; the Dallas team that was second to last a season ago, in terms of three-point field goal percentage.
“Right away, you can bring in an efficient scorer, and we already know those two, Paige Bueckers and Azzi Fudd, have an incredible connection.”
