Kesley Mitchell is coming off a stellar 2025 WNBA season, where she led Indiana in scoring. The 5-foot-8 star was named to the All-WNBA First Team and was among the finalists for the league MVP award.
Despite Caitlin Clark playing just 13 games, Mitchell led Indiana to the semifinals before being defeated by the eventual champion Las Vegas Aces in five games.
Kelsey Mitchell joins other WNBA stars in startup league
Early this month, Project B signed its first player, Seattle Storm star and WNBPA president Nneka Ogwumike. Throughout the past week, the league has announced its other signings, which include stars Alyssa Thomas, Jewell Loyd and Jonquel Jones. Three-time WNBA All-Star Kelsey Mitchell was the most recent addition.
International players Janelle Salaün and Kamilla Cardoso will also be joining the league. Front Office Sports’ Annie Costabile reported that Project B is offering stars “seven-figure salaries starting at $2 million annually, with their earnings for multiyear deals reaching eight figures.” In addition, players will also receive equity in the league, similar to the 3-on-3 league Unrivaled.
Kelsey Mitchell will also join Unrivaled’s second season, which is set to start on Jan. 5. She will be part of the inaugural team, Hive BC, alongside Sonia Citron, Ezi Magbegor, Natisha Hiedeman, Saniya Rivers and Monique Billings.
