We know that air travel can many times be an added stressor. Now combine that with the holiday rush, wintry weather, storms and compounding delays, then that stress becomes next level.
Unfortunately, this holiday week, we are watching some major airports for the likelihood of significant delays, pre- and post-Thanksgiving.
But don’t worry, there’s good news! You can track it all from The Weather Channel app’s newest feature. It’s a brand new travel widget, that I’ll explain.
Airports we are watching pre-Thanksgiving:
Sounds like a headache in the making, doesn’t it?

We are watching a decent storm system cross the eastern half of the country leading up to Thanksgiving day, that could give air travelers a run for their money.
While the southern states will be mainly rainy, the Northern Tier of the U.S. will face wintry conditions, and low visibility: the perfect recipe for flight delays and cancellations.

The Weather Channel’s New Travel Module Rolls Out In Time For The Thanksgiving Travel Rush
You can get ahead of it in The Weather Channel’s new travel feature.
All you do is plug in either the airport you are flying out of, and you can track weather delays live on the app.
Taking this one step further, you can even type in your exact flight number, to get up to the minute flight information and delay/cancellation updates.
You will be able to find a turbulence forecast, how delays are looking at the airport, and even what unwanted weather conditions you could face when arriving for your flight.

Airports we are watching post-Thanksgiving:
If you don’t check out the new app feature before Thanksgiving, maybe the post-Thanksgiving travel headaches will convince you.
A second storm will be taking shape across the U.S. and impacting many of the same locations that were hit just before Thanksgiving.
Another blast of snow will impact the Northern Plains, Midwest and even portions of the interior Northeast. Rain and possible storms will be on the southern side of this system.
With major airports being impacted, this can have a ripple effect across the rest of the country, forcing flight delays and cancellations in the smaller airports as well.
So check out the new travel widget on The Weather Channel app and let us know what you think in the comments below!
Most importantly, we hope that you arrive at your destination safely and are able to enjoy the holiday with the ones you hold most dear.
