“The Running Man” and “Chad Powers” star Glen Powell is producing an R-rated teen comedy feature, “The Fuckboat,” at Paramount, Variety has learned exclusively.

Described as a “high concept” project “in the vein of ‘Risky Business’ and ‘Easy A,’” “The Fuckboat” is a comedy written by Caroline Glenn and Sean Doherty and produced by Barnstorm’s Powell and Dan Cohen.

The spec script for “The Fuckboat” was acquired by Barnstorm in a competitive deal with multiple bidding producers vying for the movie. Skydance-owned Paramount landed the feature film project after the script was finalized by Powell and Doherty and then shopped around to buyers. The additional plot details for “The Fuckboat” are being kept under wraps.

Glenn will executive produce “The Fuckboat” alongside Barnstorm’s Ryan Schwartz. Barnstorm’s Jacquelina Rosso will co-produce.

Launched by Powell and Cohen back in February, production company Barnstorm is currently under a first look deal with Universal. In addition to “The Fuckboat” at Paramount, the young shingle is already developing projects with Judd Apatow, Barry Jenkins and Ron Howard.

“The Fuckboat” marks the first script that Glenn and Doherty — longtime friends since meeting at Emerson College in 2016 — have written together. Glenn, a screenwriter from Los Angeles, will launch her debut novel “Cruelty Free” in February 2026. A native of Massachusetts, Doherty works at Conan O’Brien’s Team Coco, where he currently serves as a senior producer.

Barnstorm is repped by CAA and JSSK; Glenn is repped by CAA and Hansen Jacobson; Doherty is repped by Hansen Jacobson.
