Casper Ruud has given some of his wealth back to his family as he gifted his two sisters Caroline and Charlotte both a luxury penthouse apartment that he previously bought with his tennis earnings.Ruud as per Nettavisen bought these apartments in 2021 and 2024 and have both been transferred to his sisters free of charge, documents as per the publication showed. Caroline is the older of the two at 25, while Charlotte is the youngest at 19.
Ruud according to the information paid 5.2 million Norwegian kroner and 6.45 million kroner respectively when he purchased the two apartments. He has invested a large amount of his tennis income into real estate and owns a total of five properties in two areas of Norway. One of his apartments, he paid as much as 50 million Kroner for in 2024. This despite Ruud having a taxable income of 41.8 million last year so of course he doesn’t see every single penny of what he earns.
The former Grand Slam finalist has a family of five with is father Christian Ruud being a former tennis star himself who previously reached a high ranking of World No.39 in singles and the fourth round of the Australian Open in 1997. His mother Lele keeps more of a lower profile.
But he has two sisters in Caroline and Charlotte. The former is following a different path to her brother and sister and regularly shares lifestyle, fitness and travel content with her followers. While Charlotte seems to be going down the path of brother and father as she is a rising tennis player in her own right currently honing her craft at the Rafael Nadal Academy so while he’s not getting any younger, we could in theory see a double Ruud on the tour in the coming years in men’s and women’s tennis.
He previously joked in 2023 about his sisters using his clothes and calling them clout chasers using his status as a top tennis player to give themselves views on social media platforms.
“They’re just in my closet, taking out whatever I wore last year and … they’re really into it,” Ruud told Steve Weissman and Prakash Amritraj on Tennis Channel. “I toy with them a little bit and say, ‘Don’t do it too much!’ I call them clout-chasers because they’re using my using my status, they’re using my clothes, to get some views themselves, so I have to give them a little bit of s*** back.”
Child and wedding incoming for Ruud
He is seemingly not only helping his future wife and child but also his siblings and close family too. He is going to be a dad very soon with his fiance Maria Galligani expecting as he revealed post Wimbledon hence why he missed that event. They have been together since 2018 and got engaged last Autumn. He suffered an injury at Roland Garros and was sidelined for a month but said that it was also due to his impending arrival that he missed the event.
“No, you know, honestly, I have not really, no (laughing). Yeah, let’s just say I didn’t play Wimbledon this year, and it was time to do something different. So we got something special coming this year, yeah. I have to say, yeah (laughing). Did some off-court work, and we’re ready for next year, an exciting next year.
“Yeah, that’s why I didn’t go to Wimbledon. Everyone wondered.”
A pretty superb act from Ruud to help the future of his sisters as they begin full adult life and as he begins the road to becoming a father and a show as to what can be done in his case with tennis income and how putting the money to good use in this case real estate has really helped him down the line.
