Robert Reich has carved into Trumpworld’s claims that Thanksgiving dinner has become cheaper this year.

The former labor secretary laid out the economic reality in a new video and Substack newsletter.

Reich, who served in Bill Clinton’s Cabinet, detailed why the cost of turkey, side dishes, desserts, coffee and more has continued to rise during Donald Trump’s second term, despite Trump’s campaign promise to slash prices, which Reich said was “the single-biggest reason people voted for him.”

Grocery prices “are the highest they’ve been in years — and several of Trump’s policies are making the problem worse,” said Reich, a longtime critic of Trump’s economic agenda.

“Trump doesn’t want you to know any of this,” he argued. “He’s doing everything possible to prevent the public from knowing how much and how fast prices are rising.”

“But here’s the truth: Rising grocery prices resulting from Trump’s failure to keep his biggest promise are hitting all of us — no matter whom we voted for — and making this Thanksgiving especially expensive,” Reich concluded.
