Alissa White-Gluz has issued a statement on social media thanking fans for the support she’s received since announcing her exit from Arch Enemy on Sunday, November 23rd.
White-Gluz had fronted the Swedish melodeath band since 2014, taking over for Angela Gossow. Her departure arrived alongside the debut of her new solo single, “The Room Where She Died.”
She’s been working on her solo material for years, having completed her debut album back in 2022. As for who will step in for Arch Enemy, original vocalist Johan Liiva has already ruled himself out, noting he was a fan of Alissa’s tenure and won’t be returning.
In a recent post on her social media White-Gluz remarked:
Wow.
I am blown away by the outpouring of love and support I have received over the past few days. Times of transition can be especially intense for the mind, body and heart. I don’t take any of this lightly. But, the overwhelmingly positive response to “The Room Where She Died” has given me so much renewed energy and clarity about who I am as an artist and why I love singing and creating music.
I am proud of the body of work I have been building for decades. After so many years of honing my skills as a vocalist, song-writer and performer; absorbing and learning with every show, every album, every video and every meet & greet, I am excited to let my solo work stand on its own.
