Black Friday is officially here and it’s an excellent chance to pick up all sorts of tech. While it’s great to stock up on essentials when they’re on sale, Black Friday deals are known to take big bucks off big-ticket items. Right now, that means it’s a great time if you’ve been thinking about getting a good virtual reality headset.

The Meta Quest 3S, which is already a fantastic value for the money, is on sale at Amazon. You can get the 128GB model or the 256GB model for up to $71 off, plus a $50 credit thrown in. It’s also on sale at Best Buy at the same price and the same gift card. Plus Best Buy is throwing in some free games, too. Since Black Friday is today, you’ll need to be quick if you want it.

If you shop at Amazon, the 128GB model is down to $250 plus a $50 credit. This is like getting it for $200. The 256GB option includes Batman and it’s $70 off, bringing it down to $329. Amazon is also throwing in a $49 credit that you can spend on anything at Amazon.

The Meta Quest 3S has an improved CPU and better graphics, which makes it great for gamers. It also has a noticeably lighter design compared to the previous Quest 2. It has approximately 3 hours of battery life.

It’s the budget version of the Quest 3 headset but it’s like comparing the iPhone 17 to the iPhone 17 Pro — the Pro version comes with added benefits but the basic version should serve all of your needs without breaking a virtual sweat.

CNET’s VR expert, Scott Stein, said in his review, “If you want a simple, fun entry ticket to VR at an amazing price, the Quest 3S is a really good upgraded device with a lot of headroom for mixed-reality evolution in the years to come. And if you’re thinking of VR as a simple, fun everyday toy, and you’re not wanting to spend too much, then the cheaper 3S is exactly where you want to be.” Stein also labeled it as “by far the best value in VR,” in his review.

Virtual and augmented reality tech is constantly evolving but it’s rarely cheap. Deals on headsets like the Meta Quest 3S don’t pop up every day. If you’ve been wanting to invest in one of Meta’s headsets, you should do it now while it’s available at a lower-than-usual price.
