Point guard Keon Johnson, the first-round draft choice of the New York Knicks in 2021, signed with the Maine Celtics on Monday and will join the team this weekend.

Johnson played 79 games last season with the Brooklyn Nets, including 56 starts, and averaged 10.6 points and 2.2 assists per game. He’s also played for the Los Angeles Clippers, who traded for him after the draft, and the Portland Trail Blazers.

Johnson, who played college ball for Tennessee, will be with Maine for Sunday’s game at Westchester. To make room on the roster, the Celtics waived forward Vance Jackson.
