EXCLUSIVE: Max Jacoby is joining Jaume Collet-Serra‘s production company Jadis Collective as an executive to help run the company. He joins from David Leitch and Kelly McCormick’s 87North, where he built and shepherded a slate of action-forward films across both streaming and theatrical studios, including Knight Rider, Just Cause, Destroyer and Ruiner at Universal, the original concept Three Hitmen & a Baby at Lionsgate and The Pirate and Valor at Amazon, amongst others.
Jadis Collective’s overall deal with Netflix came about in part as a response to the massive success of Carry On for the studio, and in part as a result of Netflix’s desire to expand its relationship with Collet-Serra. The goal for the new company is to create and capitalize on a slate of elevated concept but widely-accessible action and thriller projects for the streamer, and to cultivate a brand synonymous with quality and character-centric movies.
Most recently, he was a producer on the Amazon action film Ballerina Overdrive, due to be released by the streamer next year. Jacoby began his career at WME in the MP Lit Department, and was an executive for a number of years at the Safran Company, where he contributed to their slate of original films including I Want You Back and Heads Of State.
“I am so incredibly excited to work under Jaume’s guidance to service the most exciting studio in Hollywood,” says Jacoby. “With the support of Netflix and with Jaume’s singular creative vision, we have a huge opportunity to create a successful pipeline to deliver to audiences movies that they’ll want to watch and rewatch time and again.”
